Crossing Enemy Lines

Emmitt: I just got home from a tour with the SEALs when I discover one miss Aspen Southerland sniffing around my property. The Southerlands have owned the ranch next to my family since 1908. And they’ve been trying to take over our land ever since.

What starts out as simply keeping tabs on Aspen in case her family is scheming, turns into a tiny bit of an obsession. It’s nothing too serious. Sometimes I sit outside her window, but it’s mostly to make sure she’s not sneaking away to plan something. And, fine, I memorized her schedule, but only so I can check up on her if necessary.

I’m not in love with her or anything. I can’t be. But why else would I be so willing to cross enemy lines? And why do I want to cross so many more with my sweet little Aspen?
